Character:
White crystalloid powder, Odorless, taste bitter. Soluble in acetone, , slightly soluble in ethanol or in chloroform, hardly soluble in water, dissolved in hydroxide sodium solution, rare dissolved in dilute acids
Pharmacology:
<1> inhibit urate to be reuptaken near the convoluted tubular, increase the discharge and reduce concentration of urate in blood, alleviate or prevent urate nodules to be formed, reduce the joint damage, promote the solution of the formed urate, no anti-inflammatory and analgesic action. Used in the treatment of chronic gout.
<2> inhibition the secretion of the weak organic acids(penicillin, cephalothin) to renal tubule, so it can increase the blood concentration of antibiotics and extend their effect time
Adaptation disease:
For sensitive bacteria infections. Mainly used for livestock pasteurella disease, mastitis, uterine infection, respiratory and digestive tract infection, also can be used for anti-coccidia and toxoplasma disease infected.
Usage and dosage:
1. Chronic gout: Oral 0.25 g - 0.5, 1 time, 2-4 times/day increase to 0.5 g after a week 2 times a day.
2. Each 0.5 g, four times a day, children 0.25 mg /kg, 3-9 hours at a time. Enhance the role of penicillin
