Amitraz is a topical treatment primarily used to treat demodicosis, a type of mange. It is also used as a topical treatment for flea and tick infestations in dogs. It is occasionally used as a general insecticidal and to treat sarcoptic mange in dogs. It is used off label to treat demodicosis in cats and small mammals (chinchillas, gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, and rats).

Uses: Amitraz is highly effective insecticide, used for animal ectoparasites. It is a broad spectrum acaricide/insecticide, widely used for cattle, sheep goats and pigs. It has rapid action on the control of animal ectoparasites, such as, mites, ticks and keds etc., and the compound persists on hair and wool long enough to control all stages of the parasite. Meanwhile, inagriculture and horticulture, the outstanding miticidal activity of Amitraz has been shown to control pear psylla and mites in deciduous fruit, mites in citrusand a wide range of pest species in deciduous fruit, mites in citrus and a wide range of pest species in cotton, such as: Bollworm, aphids, psyllids, whiteflies, certain scale insects etc. Amitraz is with moderate persistency and some translaminar activity, also, Amitraz has been shown to posses parasitic activity against those strains resistant to other chemical classes of oxodicide, such as: Organophosphorus and organochlorine compounds as well as carbamic acid esters etc. Amitraz is relatively safe to predatory insects and bees. No drug stocking in the tissues of animal.

Usage and Dosage |
Shake the bottle vigorously, and remove the cap from bottle. Remove the nozzle head and place it into the cork. Please keep it flat or invert bottle. Insert the nozzle tube manually into the beehive door, and press nozzle gently. That is, press and release count as one time (about one second), and do not spray too much. Spray again onceevery 3 days, 3~5 times per treatment course. The treatment plan should be customized to mite population. In general, the temperature should be no less than 15°C, and a bottle should be sufficient for 300-500 bees. |
Storage Situation: Stored in a cool and dry well-closed container. Keep away from moisture and strong light/heat.
