Molecular Structure:

 

Policresulen is the polymer of m-cresylic sulfonic acid connected with methylene, with long chains and short chains. Its functions include:

(1)it can resist the infection of bacteria, fungus and protozoan.

(2)It can selectively to denature the slough and columnar epithelium, while it is useless to normal squamous epithelium.

(3)It can stop bleeding through solidifying the plasma protein and obviously shrinkage function of blood vessel.

 

Policresulen can offer the broad-spectrum bacteria-killing capacity, including Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, some fungus, especially for anaerobic bacteria and trichomonad. There are no drug tolerance reported.
