Oral Rehydration Salts

Oral rehydration salts (ORS) is a special drink made up of sugars, salts, and clean water. It can help replace fluid loss from severe diarrhea or vomiting.

Composition of 27.9g	3.5g sodium chloride BP 1.5g potassium chloride BP 2.9g sodium citrate BP,  20.0g anhudrous glucose.

It has fruit flavour.

Indications:
Restores body fluids and electrolytes lost due to dehydration.

Dosage: Depending upon age and severity of dehydration. For infants and children, 1-2 litres (10-20 glasses) in 24 hours are needed.

Use:
In many instances medical agencies, governmental or NGO, may be providing Oral Rehydration Salts.
