Doxycycline is a broad-spectrum antibacterial synthetically derived from oxytetracycline. Doxycycline has a high degree of lipid solubility and a low affinity for calcium binding. It is highly stable in normal human serum. Doxycycline will not degrade into an epianhydro form.
Doxycycline - a semisynthetic antibiotic tetracycline broad-spectrum. Causes bacteriostatic effect by inhibiting protein synthesis of pathogens due to the blockage of the bonds of tRNA with mRNA.
Doxycycline is used to treat many different bacterial infections, such as acne, urinary tract infections, intestinal infections, respiratory infections, eye infections, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, periodontitis (gum disease), and others.
Doxycycline is also used to treat blemishes, bumps, and acne-like lesions caused by rosacea. It will not treat facial redness caused by rosacea.
Indications for use:
- Infectious-inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the preparation, including intracellular pathogens:
- Infection of the lower respiratory tract (acute bronchitis, exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, pleurisy, empyema of the pleura);
