Tinidazole is a kind of colorless clear liquid.
Pharmacology and toxicology
Tinidazole has high activity to inhabit protozoon and anaerobic bacteria. It can inhabit bacteroides fragilis bacteroides, fusiformis, fusobacterium, digestive aureus, digestive streptococcus, the concentration of 2-4 mg/L can inhibit most anaerobic bacteria. Micro aerobe and helicobacter pylori are sensitive to tinidazole. MIC to vaginal trichomoniasis is similar to that of metronidazole.
Mechanism of action is not completely clear. Nitroreductase of anaerobic bacteria can play important roles in energy metabolism of sensitive strains. The nitro of this product can be reducted into cytotoxicity which can affect metabolic of DNA and kill the anaerobic bacteria. Bacteria lacking of nitroreductase can be resistant to this product. The function of this product to inhabit amebic protozoa bases on its suppression to the oxidation deoxidizing reaction, which can rupture the azote chain and kill it.
